ak|a have provided a contemporary oak framed sun room extension to a traditional stone farmhouse in rural Aberdeenshire.
The south facing glazed wall folds away to access a terrace with stunning elevated views towards Bennachie.
A sling braced oak frame provides an entirely open volume to the apex, allowing views from a gallery at the upper level.
The roof and walls are set outside the frame to allow its form and texture to be clearly seen.
The traditional pegged connections are particularly attractive.
